I am the founder and director of Artworx, a  community art space in  Wenatchee WA.    As a diversified artist,  recently focusing on murals, I am on a quest to weave community together.  Uniqueness of  individuals and the diversity of the collective inspires me. I intend to uplift audiences and get them to not only feel love, but to share it.

My on-going paper mache project Monsterlove, began in Milwaukee Wisconsin during 2002. It then took on a life of its own. While living In Austin TX, I facilitated workshops at my studio and a dozen other locations.  At one point, I  travelled to Mai Mahiu, Kenya to hold a Monsterlove workshop!  Then more recently, I taught one in Wenatchee WA,  where the  participants and I wore our masks in the city’s Apple Blossom parade.

Teamwork makes the dream work!  Check out my Human Paint Drops project that I did in Chelan WA.  It took a group of people to create a powerful image of one being.

Monsterlove

What is it?

Monsterlove is a community art project that i've been doing since 2002.  Participants make a paper mache monster head that they can wear. They conjure up a unique personality, take photos and videos wearing the heads, and see themselves in an altered reality that can be very therapeutic.  Self expression, shifting perspective , and having fun are the driving forces behind Monsterlove.
